Wax & Paint Protection in Astley

Decontaminated, tar free paint finished with a hand applied wax for deep gloss and months of protection. Done at your address across Golborne and Leigh. Around six miles from our Golborne base.

On an Astley car you actually take pride in, a wax and paint protection job is the rung up from a plain sealant. We get the paint genuinely clean first, drawing out tar and any bonded fallout and taking off glue or sticker marks, then work a good wax on by hand for a shine you can see and feel plus a solid few months of cover.

It fits the conditions round Astley well. What with the damp rolling off the moss, the sap and bird mess under the canal side trees, and the salt kicked up along the A580, a bit of extra armour goes a long way. The rain tightens into beads and slides straight off, grime finds less to grip, and the paint holds its shine with a lot less graft between washes. On a darker car the depth a wax brings is worth the job on its own.

We cover Astley and the area around it: Astley Green, Higher Green, Blackmoor, Cross Hillock, Astley Moss and beyond (M29).

What’s included

  • Liquid decontamination so the paint is truly smooth
  • Tar spots and glue or adhesive residue removed
  • Quality wax applied by hand, not rushed on
  • Deep, warm gloss, especially on darker colours
  • Three to six months of protection from the weather
  • Water beads off and the car stays cleaner for longer

How it works

Safe wash

A full pre-wash and safe two bucket contact wash so the paint is clean before any decontamination begins.

Decontaminate

A liquid decontamination pulls out embedded fallout, then tar spots and any glue residue are removed by hand.

Prep the surface

The paint is clayed and wiped down so it is perfectly smooth and ready to take the wax evenly.

Wax and buff

A quality wax is applied by hand, left to bond, then buffed to a deep gloss and checked over in good light.

Wax & Paint Protection in Astley: common questions

How long does the wax hold up on a car parked outside in Astley?
Three to six months as a rule, at the shorter end if it sits out in the damp off the moss all winter and racks up the miles. Once the rain stops beading on the bonnet, that is your sign it is due another coat. A gentle top up wash here and there stretches it out.
Is a wax worth it on a car kept under the trees by the Astley canal?
Yes. Cars left under the canal side trees pick up sap, bird mess and damp, and the wax gives all of that a layer to rest on instead of gripping the bare paint beneath. The day to day cleaning gets easier, and you get a warm, deep shine out of it for a good few months.
What is the difference between wax and a ceramic coating?
A hand applied wax gives a beautiful deep gloss and three to six months of protection, and it is a lovely job at a sensible price. A ceramic coating is a longer lasting, harder wearing protection measured in years rather than months, but it costs more and needs more preparation. We offer both and will tell you which suits your car and budget.
Why does the paint need decontaminating first?
Over time tiny metal particles, tar and industrial fallout bond to the paint and make it feel rough even after washing. Waxing over that just seals the dirt in. Decontaminating and claying first means the wax bonds to clean, smooth paint, so it looks better and lasts longer.
How long does the wax protection last?
Three to six months depending on how often the car is driven, parked outside and washed. A quick top up wash keeps it going, and when it starts to wear off the water stops beading, which is your sign it is due again.
