Exterior Detailing in Golborne & Leigh

The outside of the car cleaned the safe way and sealed to last, done on your drive across Golborne, Leigh and nearby.

A good exterior detail is about more than making the car shiny for an afternoon. It is about getting the dirt off without adding scratches, and leaving a layer of protection behind so the finish holds up to the weather for weeks, not days.

We start with a citrus pre-wash and snow foam to soak and lift the worst of the grime before anything touches the paint. Then it is a safe two bucket contact wash, so grit is rinsed away rather than dragged back across the panels. The wheels get cleaned on the faces and the barrels, the arches are flushed out, and the whole car is dried with a proper drying towel rather than left to spot in the sun.

To finish, we seal the paint. A sealant lasts up to 12 weeks and does the real work: rain beads and runs off, road film and traffic dirt struggle to stick, and the next wash is far easier. Tyres are dressed and the wheels protected too, so the car looks sharp from the ground up.

How it works

Pre-wash and foam

A citrus pre-wash and snow foam soak the dirt and lift what they can before anything touches the paint.

Wheels and arches

Wheels cleaned on the faces and barrels and the arches flushed out, so the dirtiest parts are dealt with first.

Safe contact wash

A two bucket hand wash that rinses grit away rather than grinding it in, then dried with a soft drying towel.

Seal and dress

Paint sealed for up to 12 weeks, tyres dressed and wheels protected, then a final check over in good light.

Common questions

What is the two bucket method and why does it matter?
One bucket has your clean wash mix, the other is for rinsing the mitt. Every time you wipe a panel you rinse the grit off the mitt in the second bucket before going back to the soap, so you are not dragging dirt across the paint. It is the simple reason a hand wash does not swirl the finish the way a sponge and one bucket does.
How long does the paint sealant last?
The sealant we use lasts up to 12 weeks depending on how often the car is driven and washed. It makes rain bead and run off and keeps road dirt from bonding, so the car stays cleaner between visits and the next wash is easier.
Can you get my alloys properly clean?
Yes. We clean the wheels on the faces and the barrels, not just the bits you see, and flush out the arches behind them. Baked on brake dust that has been left a long time sometimes needs extra work, and we will flag anything that will not come back to new.
Will an exterior detail remove scratches?
An exterior detail cleans and protects rather than corrects. Light swirls and scratches are dealt with by machine polishing, which is a separate paint correction job. We are happy to advise whether your paint would benefit from that once we have seen it.
Do you dry the car or leave it to air dry?
We dry it by hand with a soft drying towel. Letting a car air dry in the sun leaves water spots and mineral marks, especially on darker paint, so it is always worth the extra few minutes to dry it properly.
