Should I go for a wax or a ceramic coating on my Wigan car?

Is a wax worth it on a lighter coloured car?

The protection works the same whatever the colour, so a white or silver car still beads better, holds off dirt and washes down easier. The big visual lift, that deep, wet looking gloss, shows most on black, grey and dark blue, but no colour misses out on the practical side.

Why does the paint need decontaminating first?

Over time tiny metal particles, tar and industrial fallout bond to the paint and make it feel rough even after washing. Waxing over that just seals the dirt in. Decontaminating and claying first means the wax bonds to clean, smooth paint, so it looks better and lasts longer.

How long does the wax protection last?

Three to six months depending on how often the car is driven, parked outside and washed. A quick top up wash keeps it going, and when it starts to wear off the water stops beading, which is your sign it is due again.

Is this better on darker cars?

Wax gives a warm, deep gloss that really shows on black, dark blue and grey paint. Lighter colours benefit too, mostly from the protection and easier cleaning, but the visual jump is biggest on darker cars.
