To a real degree, yes, though we will be straight about what a detail does and does not do. The quick hand washes and brush machines drag grit over the paint and leave it dull and grimy, and a detail strips all that bonded muck off with a proper decontamination and a clay treatment, then seals it, so the gloss and depth already in the paint come back up. We do not machine polish or correct swirls, that is a separate job we do not take on, but a proper clean and protect still makes a real difference and we will show you on a panel before going on.
Will a detail get the scratches and swirls out?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Cutting swirls or scratches out means machine polishing and paint correction, and that is a separate job we do not take on. What our detail does is a proper deep clean, a full decontamination and a fresh coat of protection, which lifts the bonded grime off and brings out the gloss and depth already in the paint. We go through exactly what to expect with you on the drive before we start, so there are no surprises.
What is the difference between valeting and detailing?
A valet is a thorough clean inside and out. A detail goes further: it decontaminates the paint so it is properly smooth, treats the trim and glass to a higher standard, and finishes with long lasting protection. Detailing costs more because it takes far longer and leaves the car cleaner, smoother and better protected than a wash can.
Do you machine polish or correct the paint?
We are a valeting and detailing service, so our focus is deep cleaning, decontamination and protection rather than machine paint correction. If your paint is heavily swirled and you want the marks machined out, that is a specialist paint correction job and we will point you in the right direction. What we do is get the paint properly clean, smooth and protected so it looks its best.
How long does a full detail take?
A proper detail is a half day to a full day depending on the size and condition of the car. We would rather book the right amount of time and do it once than rush it.
