Wigan is a big town and we want to be honest about how we cover it. We are based in Golborne, not in Wigan itself, and sat about five miles off. So the part we are in most is the side closest to us. Ince-in-Makerfield, which sits right between the two, is our nearest patch, and the southern streets and the WN postcodes that lead back toward Golborne are all easy runs for us. Further in, through the centre and out to the far suburbs, we still come, we just line it up by arrangement so the day works. Give us a shout either way.

There is a good bit of history to the place, a former mining and mill town, home to Wigan Pier and a serious rugby league following, and the housing is every bit as mixed. Around the centre and over in Scholes it runs to tight Victorian terraces with the car left at the kerb. Out toward Swinley and Hawkley Hall the streets are leafier and there is more room off the road. The bigger estates at Worsley Mesnes and Pemberton land in between, drives ranging from short to long, with Winstanley and Whelley much the same.

Whatever sits outside your door, we turn up self contained and carry the water and the power with us, so a terraced kerbside and a house with a long drive are all one to us. Cars here pick up the usual road grime and winter salt, and older paint left out often wants more than a rinse to look right again.
